Joint Pain, Stiffness & Arthritis
Stiff knees, aching hips, sore elbows, painful shoulders or increasingly restricted joints? Osteoarthritis and other joint problems can affect comfort, mobility and confidence. Sometimes discomfort isn't simply about the joint itself. Restricted movement, surrounding muscle tension, swelling or inflammation can contribute to pressure, aching and stiffness. Understanding these factors helps guide treatment to relieve symptoms and improve movement.
Did you know?
Inflammation, swelling and effusion are related, but don't mean quite the same thing. Inflammation is the body's response to irritation or injury. Swelling describes increased tissue volume, often due to fluid. Effusion refers to excess fluid within a joint or another body cavity. These terms commonly appear in medical reports.
Back, Neck & Spinal Pain
Back and neck pain can develop gradually or follow injury, prolonged positioning or changes in activity. Symptoms may include aching, stiffness, restricted movement or pain extending into the arms or legs. We assess spinal movement, surrounding muscles, joint function and contributing factors to guide treatment suited to your needs.
Muscle Pain & Tightness
Muscle pain isn't always simply a strained or overworked muscle. Persistent aching and tightness may involve muscle tension, fascial restrictions or other contributing factors. We assess muscle and surrounding tissue function, identifying tension, sensitivity and movement restrictions that may contribute to discomfort. Treatment aims to relieve pain, improve movement and restore comfortable function.
Tendon & Soft Tissue Problems
Tendon and soft tissue problems can cause pain during everyday activities, exercise or rest. Common presentations include tendinitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis and irritation around muscles, tendons and joints. We assess tissue sensitivity, movement, loading and contributing factors to guide targeted treatment and improve comfort and function.
Did you know?
Tennis elbow isn't always tennis elbow.
You don't have to play tennis to develop tennis elbow. It commonly involves the tendons attaching to the outside of your elbow, but not all pain in this area comes from those tendons. Identifying what's actually causing your pain is the first step towards choosing the right treatment.
Sports & Everyday Injuries
Whether an injury occurs during sport, work or everyday activity, recovery involves understanding what happened and what may be limiting progress. We assess affected tissues, movement and functional demands to guide treatment and a practical return to usual activities, while helping reduce the risk of recurring problems.
Persistent & Complex Pain
When pain keeps returning, affects multiple areas or hasn't improved with previous treatment, it can be difficult to know what to try next. We review the broader picture, identify potentially contributing factors and develop a considered treatment plan, with realistic expectations and progress reviewed along the way.

Where you feel the pain isn't always the whole story.
Pain can be influenced by several factors, including joint mobility, muscle and soft tissue tension, inflammation, movement patterns and how tissues respond to load. Understanding these contributing factors helps us make more informed treatment decisions, rather than simply treating the painful area in isolation.
